Maguire Yoh, LAPC
Associate Professional Counselor
As your therapist, my first goal is to create a safe therapeutic space where together we build rapport and work to tackle any and every challenge. I work with adolescents and adults to address a variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety, familial conflict, and adjustment-related difficulties. My integrative approach to counseling is person-centered and nonjudgmental, incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
My therapeutic focus is on helping you discover your multitudes. If you struggle with feeling stuck or directionless, my approach begins with helping you address the distance between who you are now and who you want to be. I utilize evidence-based interventions to increase your motivation for change and help you actualize your goals, while also addressing your unique challenges.
I earned my master’s degree in Counselor Education through Augusta University. During graduate school, I interned in a community mental health setting, working alongside individuals with severe and persistent mental health diagnoses. Additionally, I worked closely with Augusta University’s multicultural population, which emboldened my passion for multicultural counseling.
Outside of the therapeutic space, I enjoy reading, running, and spending time with my dog. My special talent includes having a song and/or book recommendation for every situation.
