Claire Gardner, LAPC

I began my career as a therapist earning a graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling with a specialization in play therapy from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. Since then, I have worked with children as young as three all the way up to older adults in their seventies presenting with a wide range of concerns.

I use a client-centered approach for all ages which prioritizes the counseling relationship; one that fosters safety and trust. I incorporate expressive arts into therapy such as sandtray, drawing, and music which can be beneficial for tweens, teens, and adults. I specialize in using these interventions with those struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, family & relationship issues, and life transitions.

One of my main specialties is providing play therapy to children ages 3-10. I use the evidence-based treatment modality designed for children called Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT). I value parents/caregivers as partners in helping their children limit problem behaviors and tap into their potential. CCPT can be beneficial for children who have experienced a variety of issues, such as trauma, worry, sadness, anger, family struggles, inattention, outbursts, defiance, and school-related issues.
