Allison Stallworth, LAPC

I earned my master’s degree from Augusta University in Clinical Psychology and completed internships at a state psychiatric hospital and private practice. I have served individuals with a variety of sexual, gender, and ethnic identities, as well as from different age groups. Further, I have experience treating a wide range of presenting problems such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and eating disorders. As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I am passionate about helping teens and adults heal their relationships with food, body, and self, regardless of symptom severity or duration. It is never too soon to seek help.

My style is primarily informed by psychodynamic, cognitive, and systems theories, although the particular interventions I employ depend on clients’ needs. With all clients, I embrace the power of the therapeutic relationship to undo aloneness and heal emotional wounds created by past experiences. Too often, attempts to express our needs or emotions are criticized or ignored, leading to a loss of trust in our own experience and inherent goodness. The result can manifest as depression, anxiety, disordered eating, or other symptoms. When a therapist responds to clients’ vulnerable disclosure with empathy, kindness, and validation, long forestalled healing can begin. All of our struggles are understandable in the context of our experiences. You are neither broken nor alone.

As a little background, I am a born-and-raised Georgian originally from the Atlanta area. My pastimes include singing, playing video games, and enjoying Mexican food with loved ones. Perhaps most importantly, I have a geriatric cat named Kelso who is my pride and joy.
